Years ago, it would cost about $1000 dollars to get the Silver Trumpet Newsletter printed and mailed out to all our praying friends. Much prayer went forth as we prepared for each mailing. Each time, we Stood In Faith Believing God for every penny! I can’t recall one time when I started moving towards the newsletter preparation, that I had the money for printing and postage in the bank. The Holy Spirit usually lead me one step at a time as the finances came in daily. As I think back over the years, many are the times that the Lord has helped us.
One particular time of “Divine Help” stands out in my mind. I had just picked up the newsletter at the printers. The volunteers and I put address labels on each envelope, sorted them by zip code for mailing, put them in brown grocery bags and stacked them neatly over in the corner of my office. That morning I knew that I didn’t have the finances to go any further and God would have to provide.
A few hours later there was a knock at our front door. I answered it, and to my surprise, there stood a dear friend of the ministry. We had spent much time in prayer for her needs over the phone, but she had never visited us at our office. We shared a few short minutes, she told me that she had not planned to visit me that morning, but she had made a trip into town, and on the way back home she made a wrong turn and ended up in front of our building. She then decided to run in for a minute to say hello! As we continued to share she opened her purse and pulled something out of it.
Now, up to this time, neither of us had mentioned money. She also shared with me that their family was in a transition period between churches. They had not had a home church for about four months. She said that the Holy Spirit had instructed her and her husband to save the tithe each month and that He would show her what to do with it. She said, “The Lord has just shown me what to do with this money, I’m to give it to you.” I burst into tears and great rejoicing. The checks totaled the amount I needed for the postage, plus some. He had just become JEHOVAH JIREH, MY PROVIDER! The Holy Spirit further said to me, “You see, my daughter, I knew about your need months ago and began to prepare for it.” This revealed His great love for you and I. We have a Father in Heaven who hears all our prayers and doesn’t miss a one! To God Be The Glory! “…no good thing will He withhold from, them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11
