A few weeks ago my daughter Tammy who lives next door invited us over for supper. We were sitting around just fellowshipping in the Lord, when I heard my phone ring, the prayer line was programmed to the phone that was with me. By the time I could get to it I had missed the call. I immediately looked at the caller ID and was puzzled by the number because the only two people that mainly call me on my red cell phone are my other daughters Nichol and Debra.
I thought to myself, that cell phone is on my nightstand beside my bed and no one was at the house. I asked my son-in law to please go and check out the house to see if anyone was over there. He quickly ran next door, went in found my red cell phone and brought it to me. He said, "There isn't anybody over there and the phone was laying on your night stand just as you said." Suddenly I knew there was something deeper about this strange mysterious phone call that I needed to know about.
Yet, I still was wondering who had called me from this phone? I thought, I will call my oldest daughter Debra first and ask her if everything is alright? As soon as I said hello, she said, "Mom, I am so glad you called! I'm at the hospital at Machelle's bedside and she is not doing well. Will you pray for her?"
Machelle is my niece and has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time and just had major surgery. "Mom, she needs your prayers and encouragement--she is going through a hard time right now." My heart welled up knowing how much God loved Machelle and that He made my phone ring--a divine intervention! The Lord knew that I would not rest until I found out who called that line. It was God himself who orchestrated the whole incident. You see I was so busy talking that the Holy Spirit could not penetrate my mind and heart to get my attention--Machelle needed prayer right away and Debra had exhausted all that she had to offer spiritually, therefore, Aunt Hilda was needed and God made the prayer line ring. Her pain and agony had reached heaven. What a merciful high priest we have in the heavens."Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am..." Isaiah 58:9. Jesus loves people and will come to their rescue. To God Be The Glory!
