One mid afternoon I received a Special Prayer call. It was a widow lady that I spoke to on occasion. She was in a real dilemma. She shared with me that years back, her daughter had gone through some very hard times because of a divorce. Her daughter had a little girl. The State Department of that time had decided that in the best interest of the child, she would have to be put in a foster home. It had been nine years since she seen her grandchild. She was on a fixed income. She had called an attorney and he wanted to help her but required a $100 retainer fee. She didn't have that kind of money but her heart ached to see her grandchild.
As I listened to her prayer need, I was moved with great compassion. After praying I hung up the phone. At that moment my thoughts were of frustration. I said to myself, "Oh God, why don't you bless me with a lot of money so I could help the poor when they have needs?" The Holy Spirit was just as quick to respond. He said, "You have something greater than money. You have "Prayer Power" and audience with the one who answers prayer. Immediately, the burden of the Lord for the woman fell upon me. I knelt beside my chair in my office and I went into the groanings of the Spirit in intercession for this poor widow's desire to be reunited with her loved one.
In a few minutes, the Holy Spirit released me, and instructed me to call information in that city where the grandchild was taken away nine years before, and get the telephone number of the that particular State Department, I obeyed. He said, "Now call that number and you will "Find Favor" because I'm going to help you. Ask for the head of the organization." Again I obeyed. It was Amazing! When I made the call, I was put through immediately with no questions asked. They didn't even ask my name or the purpose of my call. An older woman's voice answered. I identified myself as Hilda Arredondo, with the United Intercessors Prayer Line. I briefly told her about the widow who was in poor health, and who had a "Gift" for her granddaughter whom she had not seen in nine years. Could she please do something to help us? There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone when I finished. She was very brief, she said, "What is your name again?" I gave her my name and she said, "Thank you for calling and letting us know of the situation." All of this happened so quickly, that for a moment I thought, "Did I do all that?" Yet, I had an assurance that it was in God's Hands. Then I went on with my prayer business of that day.
Several weeks later, the Rejoicing Widow got in touch with me and said, "Guess what? I'm going to meet with my granddaughter; the state people found her and called me. They're going to let me see her, so I can give her my Gift! Again, the Holy Spirit said to me " You see, Prayer Power is greater than money, attorneys, or anything else in this world, He (God) heard and helped this widow to be re-united with her grandmother and He gets the Glory for it all!"
