Return to your first love, was what Jesus said to the Church of Ephesus. (Revelation 2) Then in Ephesians 5:21-25 it says, “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it”.
Rekindle your first love with your spouse today. Do you remember when you were dating, nothing asked of you was too much. Then you got married and after a few years, the honeymoon was over. It doesn’t have to be like that. Ask Jesus to rekindle your love with your spouse and then be obedient to do what he tells you to do. Remember, “What God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Matthew 19:6. Let us comfort each other, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says, “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warn alone? And If one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
After a divorce and many failures in my life God saw fit in 1975 to restore my wife of youth and four children back to me. He also came to dwell in my heart. Today I can share that I have a successful marriage in Christ and that separation or divorce is not the answer, but Jesus Christ is the way.
As unity is established in the homes between husbands and wives, parents and children, then it will spread to this nation and we will flow in love and harmony in Christ Jesus. Let’s make America a better place by doing our part in keeping our homes together in love.
