I was on call for the prayer line one day. United Intercessors receives many calls and many are the needs of God’s people. Some are first time callers, and others are ministry friends who feel that there is a Mighty God who cares for His people and is waiting to demonstrate His love for them through prayer.
The phone rang and I answered it. Nothing seemed different about this day. It was a young woman’s voice. She began to share with me her prayer need. At present, she was in a hospital room with her very young and only son. He had been admitted because of a virus. His symptoms were vomiting and diarrhea, he was dehydrated and in serious condition. Now the doctors were doing all they could for him. Medical care and medicine were administered. The child was in a semi-comatose condition. Doctors said they had done all they could and it was a “wait and see” situation. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “Lay down on the floor in a prostrate position with the phone.” He further stated, “You’re going to see Resurrection Power.” As I prayed with all my being, I asked Jesus to heal this little child and raise him up. What seemed to be one of the longest prayers the Holy Spirit ever prayed through me, all of a sudden, the prayer came to silent still. Then, I said to the mother, “I have prayed all that I know how to pray; now it’s up to the Lord to do His part." I was lying on the floor, with my head down and the receiver in my ear, when the mother let out a big shout, “His eyes just opened big and wide!” Now remember, he was listless and in a semi-comatose condition when the prayer started. She shouted again, “He’s moving and his eyes are open!” Immediately, we both began to Praise God for His Healing Power.
The next morning she called me to tell me they were headed for home. She further shared with me that the child had asked for “french fries” to eat a few minutes after the phone call for prayer. He was healed by the Power of Jesus. To God Be The Glory! He is the healer and restorer of our physical bodies. “Father, in Jesus name, give us faith every day to heal the sick, cleanse the leper, cast out devils: freely we have received freely let us give… Amen”
