Let me share with you about God’s merciful heart to all! It was just before the Christmas holiday 2005, when I was suddenly awakened by the “Alarm of the Spirit”. When I refer to the “Alarm of the Holy Spirit” it’s just like our alarm clock that has a special distinctive ring that awakens us out of our sleep. His familiar “Supernatural Alarm” to me is for the same purpose, to wake me up to pray for something that is very urgent or important to Him. As I began to pray, suddenly I heard that there was trouble in the nation, but wasn’t quite sure what it could be. I continued to pray and then I went back to bed and slept. As the morning progressed the Holy Spirit spoke to me that there was trouble in New York City. I came back to my prayer closet, but before I went in, I looked at my husband Jose and said, “You be my witness, God just told me there is trouble in New York City.” I do this often so I can have a witness beforehand to the Lord’s secret that is being revealed. “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” Psalm 25:14
Then, the phone rang; one of the prayer warriors from the New York area was calling the prayer line. They shared with me that it was 22 degrees bitter cold weather there and that a terrible “Transit Strike” was going on in their last minute shopping for Christmas. Cars were bumper to bumper in that big city causing traffic jams, while others were walking in that icy cold weather trying to cross bridges to get to their destinations. It was truly an inopportune time to have a transit strike—people could freeze to death!
The Holy Spirit instructed me to call for the praying friends of United Intercessors and the praying people of Acadiana (South Louisiana) to begin to pray. Immediately I made arrangements with our local radio station in our area to give out six prayer request announcements where I could get the most listening audience to begin to pray. We were so very grateful to our local radio station that worked so graciously with us in order to accommodate the prayer request in such a short notice. In less than 48 hours the “Transit Strike” was settled and called off. God loves people and has great mercies and because He was working behind the scenes--business was back to normal.
You wonderful great people of God, thank you for praying. Romans 9:15 reads, “ For he said to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” God had great compassion on the New York people and His power of prayer settled that transit strike quickly. God loves people and something that could have gone on for days during this bitter cold weather was brought to a halt by the Hand of Almighty God in Jesus name. To God Be The Glory!
