A Vision Of Encouragement (1990)

Jose & Hilda Arredondo
I can recall one late summer day, working all day, helping my husband dig a hole for an electrical telephone pole on our property. As the day progressed, I kept looking anxiously at the clock. I had an appointment at 6 pm that evening to go and present the ministry of National Divine Connection to some prayer warriors who were interested in raising up a prayer troop in their church. Now, I had spent most of the day in mud up to my knees and when we got home late that afternoon I prepared to get a shower so I could get ready for the meeting. I sat down on the edge of my bed and began to cry “Oh Lord, I feel so inadequate, after working all day I feel as though I have nothing spiritual to give to these ladies.”

In His loving mercy He gave me a quick and short vision to encourage me. I seen a fireplace with some ashes, but underneath the ashes there were still some small sparks of fire smoldering, then I saw this big hand pick up the fire poker.  The poker had a golden handle, and that handle was shaped like a horse’s head.

The great big hand holding the poker began to move towards the fireplace. It began to stir the ashes and smoldering fire that was about to go out. Little flames began to shoot up slowly. As the hand continued to stir up the ashes with the poker flames came forth, and soon the fire was burning. Then the hand took the poker from the fireplace and set it down. I said, “Lord, what are you saying?” The interpretation came immediately. The Lord said, “Hilda, you are as a fire poker in my hand, an instrument for my use and purposes. The ashes represent the fires of revival and prayer in this country which have almost gone out, but, underneath those ashes are still some burning coals of fire that need to be stirred up. The burning coals represent the praying people. All I need is a vessel to work through. “You’re right, there is nothing that you have in yourself to do this work for me, but in “My Strength” you are to go and do my commission of prayer.” I quickly remembered the end of the fire poker was shaped like a horse’s head. The Holy Spirit reminded me that the horse is a strong animal, and does exactly what His master instructs. He further said, “In this hour, I need strong people such as the workhorse, those who are willing to plow in my kingdom and I have chosen you.” Go--and plow was my commission! He offered me no monetary reward, just His encouraging words and much labor. “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye” Psalms 32:8.

I understood the vision and got up from a kneeling position by my bed with
great joy, knowing that my Father had chosen me to
plow in His kingdom. Someday, my plowing would bring great fruitfulness and I would reap of my labor. As most of you know in 1983, I received a personal commission from the Lord to raise up prayer troops to pray for America and the needs of the Body of Christ. My prayer was to be used of the Lord. I knew this was God's will for my life and this was "An Answer To My Prayer" To God Be The Glory!
