I want to share with you
the importance of prayer and also how important it is to obey the Holy Spirit
even when we have our own thoughts, schedules and ideas. We (NDCP) were asked to keep a couple in our prayers that would be traveling out of state (by car) to visit with family. (Psalm 91) When it was time for them to return home they began receiving reports of
severe weather along the route they needed to travel to get home. They prayed and
decided to wait and leave 2 hours later than they originally planned.
As they traveled up and
down the mountains it began to rain and a foggy haze made it difficult to see.
Eventually traffic came to a complete standstill and they had no choice but be patient and wait. They were not able to see what was up ahead of them for quite
some time but they had a feeling it was due to an accident of some sort. As
they got closer a semi-truck had lost control, run off the road and was literally
hanging off the side of the mountain. After a couple hours the road was cleared and and I am happy to report that they made it home safe and unharmed. Thank you Jesus!
We never know why we are
delayed but as Christians we can take comfort in knowing that our Lord is
always watching over us. Perhaps if they had followed their own schedule and
not listened to the Holy Spirit by leaving a couple of hours later they might
have been in that terrible accident and seriously injured. "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee
in all thy ways." Psalm 91:11
The enemy is always trying
to do us harm but God prevailed in Jesus name!! Prayer had gone up to heaven on
their behalf. The Lord loves us so much that He will break through the realm of
the natural with the supernatural to help intervene and spare the lives of
those we pray for. To God Be The Glory, For Answered Prayer!
