Dear
Sis Hilda, I would like to share a testimony of how the Lord Jesus met a need for
our family last week. My daughter started band this year not really knowing what
instrument she was wanted to play. The music teacher encouraged them to try
several instruments before making a choice. My daughter tried playing a few of
the instruments and decided on the trumpet but all the positions were filled.
So she tried playing the saxophone and liked it but again all the positions were
already filled. We went home and after she gave it some thought she said, “I'm
going to play the clarinet.” We were blessed that she had picked an instrument
and were excited for her.
A
few days went by and then last week without notice she came home after school and
said, “Mom, I need you to buy me a clarinet by tomorrow!” I knew that buying an
instrument was going to be expensive and knowing children as we do there is
always a possibility that she may or may not stick with it. The Lord knew my
heart’s desire was for my daughter to have a clarinet and He also knew that I
didn’t have the extra finances. I prayed that He would show me what to do. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not
depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show
you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
My
daughter has a friend whose parents happen to be band/choir directors
at the local high school. Her mother called me on the phone and said, “I heard
that your daughter is going to be playing the clarinet. I still have mine from my
high school/college days and she is more than welcome to use it for as long as
she needs.”"Call upon me, and I will answer..." Psalm 91:15
I
was so thankful and full of joy that Jesus heard and had met my unspoken
request. This would allow us time to buy her a new clarinet of her own and to also
see if this is something that she will continue to want to do. God is so good
all the time. Thank you for always for remembering my family and
lifting us up in prayer. “Praying
always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto
with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18
