“And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight…” Esther 2:17. Because Esther’s fragrance was one of obedience, she pleased God and others. She found great favor wherever God placed her. Esther gave much pleasure to the Lord and He loved her because of that obedience and eventually she would be an obedient, submissive, and loving wife to the king.
Years ago, I asked God to help me be obedient and submissive to Him and others. I was now training to work for the Lord and as He prepared me for ministry He quickly pointed out to me that I was to start right at home with my husband, by doing the smallest requests he would ask of me and that I was not to lead him anymore. Now, for some time I had done that, and he had allowed it, but now God was also taking over to teach and lead my husband to be a Godly man and take his rightful place as the head of our household.
One day my husband was going to work and asked me to please take his clothes to the cleaners. Well, the day went by and as I looked at the clock, he would be home in a few hours and I had gotten so busy that I completely forgot to drop his clothes off. I started to shrug it off with the thought, “I’ll do it tomorrow.” But the Holy Spirit reproved me, telling me that I was not honoring my husband by not taking him seriously enough to run the errand he requested—I was being disobedient. Quickly, I jumped in the car and off to the cleaners I went. Another time it was a request about his mail, or an envelope I was wasting that I didn’t take seriously. I thought, “This is so minor” but the Holy Spirit reminded me again that “Little Things” done in the form of disobedience form bad habits of disobedience and are displeasing to God. “But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.” Jeremiah 7:23.
Here I am today, writing to you and sharing God’s Grace with you. Yes, my beloved brethren, I was learning some Great Lessons In Obedience. God was speaking to my heart, He said, "You obeyed me and I needed that obedience from you so that I can continue to prepare you for My Work of Prayer.” Jesus “Answered My Prayer” and that spiritual lesson was just the beginning of many to be taught to me by our Heavenly Father. As we continue to work on our obedience to Him and our battle in prayer for the Nation, the Lost, and the Church--God will Hear and Answer! To God Be The Glory!
