Years ago I can recall "His Call To Pray” as it came to me. It seemed that I had worked all my life for an employer, but now God's presence was beckoning me to come and work for Him. I remember being so full of His presence and going to the ladies room putting my face into the corner of the wall away from the offices and crying out to the Lord that I wanted to be lifted up out of this position of working a job, because I wanted to be with Him only.
As time went by I knew that I was done with the present job and He said to me, "You work for your earthly employer 8 hours a day, then you can come work for me in prayer." Little did I know that as I gave myself to the CALL OF PRAYER many times He would have me working as much as 16 hours a day. Now, I knew the answer to my question that I had asked years ago, how could anyone work for God 8 hours a day in prayer?
I walked away from that job in 1983. On my last day there I was given a nice little luncheon and a beautiful card. As I was leaving that day I looked at the card. It had a Statue of Liberty on the front cover--as I stared in much surprise at that card --no one there (but Jesus) knew about my love for America and how much I prayed for her. The Lord said to me, "This day I have liberated you and you will never work for an earthly employer again, you will work for me!"
That was twenty-seven years ago. He has supplied all of my needs and continues to lead me daily. "For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withold from them that walk uprightly." Psalms 84:11. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
