When I first came to God’s kingdom many years ago, I thought I heard God clearly and distinctly speak to me by Holy Spirit that He wanted to use me as a “Vessel of Honor” those were His words. He also said, “One day I am going to use your testimony too! I would think, “Who me?” The days, months and years seemed to pass me by. Nothing was happening. It seemed that all I was doing was laboring with no reward. Then, "seven years" after I was saved, I would receive my very first official invitation to be a speaker.
I can still remember that day so vividly. It was a beautiful sunny day in south Louisiana. My husband, Jose and I decided to go for a afternoon drive. Before leaving we stopped to check our mail. To my surprise, there was a small envelope addressed to me. As I opened it, I realized it was an invitation asking me to be a speaker for the Women’s Aglow Chapter in Orange, Texas. Immediately, thoughts of God’s past promises began to cross my mind, and I said, “Yes Lord, that was your voice of promise that I heard all those years ago.” Tears welled up in my eyes and my heart was full and all I could do was Praise God! The day had finally come and my GOD HAD BEEN FAITHFUL!
As modern day Christians living in an easy comfortable society, we can forget that we have to “LABOR” while waiting for the PROMISED BLESSING. In Genesis 29:18, Jacob would wait for Rachel, his “Bride to Be.” His love for Rachel was so great that he was actually willing to wait, but more importantly, “LABOR” during this “WAIT” for SEVEN YEARS. Perhaps some of you reading this can relate to Jacob’s laboring and WAITING FOR YOUR SPECIAL PROMISE FROM THE LORD. The Lord wants me to say to you today, DON'T LET DOUBT ENTER YOUR MIND, DON'T LOSE YOUR EXCITEMENT AND FERVOR FOR THE PROMISE. DON’T QUIT-- HE WHO PROMISED IS FAITHFUL! “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrews 10:23
