This Autumn and Fall Season unveils all the hidden colorful hues of the leaves on the trees, and as you travel throughout the countryside the ground looks like a multicolor carpet woven with many shades of gold, brown, yellow and red. Yes, how awesome as you consider the work of Almighty God’s fingers. We can also say with David the Psalmist, “O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.” Psalm 8:1. It is almost as if the Lord God prepares a thermal blanket of falling leaves for the earth as it approaches the cold and chilly winter season with its millions of snowflakes that appear to be as glistening diamonds as they fall and cover everything in sight.
Yet, underneath the stillness of winter, the Almighty God is preparing life anew. It will break forth at the right moment with new buds, warm sunshine, and the knowing that every season brings to us something new and fresh. The earth’s natural seasons can be compared to our world as Christians. Sometimes we can be in a season of adverse circumstances which bring much trial to our lives, or it can be a season of poor health, and perhaps neither, but rather a time of sorrow and mourning. Then, again, maybe you cannot identify with any of the above seasons for yours is a particular time of loneliness when friends cannot be found and loved ones seem to have disappeared.
Be encouraged for all the Lord’s Seasons prepare us for "New Things" and promise growth and victory for the child of God. Whatever your situation may be, remember and then Rejoice, because it’s only for a season, and the—something “New and Exciting” in Christ Jesus is right around the corner!
