One day, we were invited to speak at a small church on a Sunday afternoon. The congregation was small and struggling financially. When I was done speaking, the Pastor came up to us and handed me a small offering of $50.00. Now, at this time, this small offering looked real good to me because my checkbook was sitting on zero cash dollars. As I stood there with the offering in my hand, I knew that it was not near enough to meet my need. The next day was Monday and I had some pressing financial needs for the ministry. As I continued standing there, thinking upon my personal situation of need, the Holy Spirit spoke, "Give the money back to the pastor, he needs it more than you." I argued, "More than me? My checkbook is on zero, but, nevertheless, I obeyed." I had consulted with my husband and he agreed that I should give it back. The Pastor smiled and was touched when I gave him back the offering. All I knew was that I had to obey and I had done just that! My husband and I left for home that afternoon, praying for our own situation of need.Over the years, I have believed God for every penny for the ministry. So believing God for finances has been a way of life for me for about thirty years. It has taught me to walk by faith and not by sight; to exercise my faith and trust in Him. It has taught me that this Ministry of United Intercessors is not dependent on money to keep its doors open, but, rather on God who raised it up! Many have been the lessons of faith!
The next day I was in my office, when this man and his wife walked into United Intercessors. I had been counseling this couple, and through prayer the Lord had done much for them. They handed me a check for $500.00! I was "Awestruck" with God's faithfulness! I had given out of my own need and because I obeyed, I was blessed with a much Greater Financial Blessing which was what I really needed! To God Be The Glory! Father, in Jesus name, help us to believe in faith for our financial needs...Amen
