Shielded By The Lord:

“For thou, Lord wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12 (KJV)
Prayer is a form of communication, a way of talking to God. I can recall one particular time when I was on my way to run an errand before work. Earlier that morning I had my devotion time with the Lord, but as I was driving to the store I felt the Holy Spirit urging me to pray again. I thought to myself well I prayed already but did it anyway. I put on my Spiritual Armor and prayed for the safety of my family, friends and loved ones. I thanked him for "His Divine Protection" and covered every area of prayer that I could possibly think of. Before I knew it I had arrived, pulled into the parking lot and went in. I finished my shopping, walked out and got into my car. I remember looking behind me, saw that it was clear and started to back up. The next thing I remember is hearing a horn and then I felt my car bump into something. I thought that I had hit a shopping cart. I quickly turned my head and sure enough I had backed into a car that was waiting for me to pull out so they could take the parking space. I pulled back in to the parking spot, raised my hands and said, "Oh Help Me Jesus." The gentlemen got out and asked me if I was alright. I felt so bad and I apologized to the man right away. I expected him to be upset but on the contrary he was very kind and patient reassuring me not to worry. We both took a look at his car first to see what damage had been done. We couldn’t see any damages at all. We then looked at my car and the bumper looked like it was dented a little but he pushed it with his hands and being how they make cars these days the small dent popped right out. I was so relieved!
I started to look for the number to call the local authorities so they could make out the accident report when he said, “You know, there isn’t any damage that I can see to my old car and your car seems to be fine so why don’t we just forget about it, no need to make either of our insurances go up."
It happened on private property and there wasn’t any visible damages done to either of our cars. I still offered to give him my business card and insurance information but he said, “No need, just take it as a Blessing. I’m just thankful that no one was hurt.” I thanked him and he smiled as he walked inside the store.
I got into my car, my heart still beating so fast and just sat there for a few minutes thanking Jesus for his Mercy. How “Good” He is to us. The Lord heard my prayers earlier that day. Had I not obeyed and prayed just before I entered that parking lot, how much worse that accident could have been? The Lord loves us and hears our prayers. He knows in advance of our needs and of things to come. Satan never sleeps so when we get dressed for the day we should remember to put on the Whole Armor of God and Pray, then listen to the leading the Holy Spirit. (In no way am I telling you not to report or call the police when there is an accident, however the Lord was in control that day. No one was hurt, there were no damages done to either of our vehicles and we were both in agreement on how we were to handle our situation.)
