God loves you and me and our children. He will break through the realm of the natural with the supernatural to help spare the lives of our precious loved ones. I want to share with you how God spared my grandson Micah’s life recently and how important it is to obey when the Holy Spirit calls us to special times of prayer.
At the beginning of December 2008, the Holy Spirit clearly spoke to me that He wanted me to increase my praying for my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I obeyed and prayed diligently, I felt like I was on a “watch” night and day, praying for the needs of the body of Christ and my children. The Holy Spirit revealed to me that the enemy wanted to take one of my grandchildren "out" before their time. I had run into Rhonda, Micah’s mom, about the middle of December and shared with her in "passing" how my prayer life had increased. How the Lord had revealed to me to pray more than ever for my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She said, "you know the Lord has really impressed on me to pray much more for my children too!" I was not afraid as I spiritually pieced together what the Holy Spirit was warning me about. One of my grandchildren’s life was in danger, but which one? But I knew if God had revealed to me this much, then it was to prevent whatever the “evil one” was planning against us.
On December 31, 2008 I was awakened at around 2:00 a.m. I knew the Holy Spirit wanted me to get up and pray. Again it was the same praying for the grandchildren and great grandchildren. I prayed till about 5:00 a.m. As I laid down to sleep again and closed my eyes, suddenly I saw my grandson, Micah, like lightning run in front of me like a flash and then my son Tony’s face appeared before me in such clarity. He was looking at me, (more like staring); his eyes appeared bigger than usual, like he wanted to tell me something. I could see him clearly, his face and upper chest area. It lasted for about 30 seconds. I knew that Tony was not home with his family. He was offshore on his job and would be gone for about a week. Now, let me say our son is a good Christian father, a great provider and hard worker, and the secondary protector (Jesus being the first) of his wife and 5 children. He is truly a man’s man, the leader of his home, as it should be, he is gentle and loving, but when he speaks to his family, they know the firm anointed voice of the headship and authority of the home that has spoken. He has 5 children, 4 girls and his baby, Micah, who is now 6 years old and the apple of his eye. Now, he has not always worked offshore, which takes him away from home and his family. He is not happy about being offshore, nor his family who love and miss him terribly when he is gone, but his new job pays the bills and they are thankful. Nevertheless, I immediately began to pray again for him and his family. Then finally dozed off back to sleep.
That same day, around 7:00 p.m. I received a frantic call from his wife Rhonda, who proceeded to tell me that Micah, their one and only son, had almost choked to death on some french fries while at the store. She said, “I’m shaking so bad I can hardly speak, I didn’t know what to do. A lady came up to me while in the store, and said, 'Can I help you?' then I said, “my son is choking to death and I don’t know what to do to help him.” She quickly said, “I will get my husband and he will know what to do.” The man came over, put his finger down his throat and dislodged the fry or fries and Micah got his breath and then began to really cry. This man happened to be a retired law officer and saved Micah's life. The devil had come to cut off his breath, but God prevailed in Jesus name!! Prayer had gone up to Heaven on his behalf and Jesus had spared his life.
This is not the first time that I’ve stood in the gap to save’s one life, but this was different. His face (Tony) was in front of me and it was so clear. The word of God says in the Gospels that Jesus will let us know of things to come (John 16:13). I truly believe that this was a divine intervention from the Holy Spirit. God works in mysterious ways many times in ways that we don’t understand. It was God’s way of reaching out for prayer for my son and his family who were headed for a terrible tragedy. It was Micah’s mother, Rhonda, who was with him in such a critical and dangerous moment when he almost choked to death. We give Jesus all the Glory for what He has done!! The next day was New Years, what a wonderful way to start the New Year –The Power of prayer had prevailed, God had been faithful to His Word and our Lord Jesus never fails.
