The Lord Is Faithful; He Delights In Answering Our Prayers

Years ago, my husband James and I were on our way to work, which was about a 30 minute commute. We needed to pay our electric bill later that day so I decided to balance my checkbook. I knew we had the money to pay the bill however, to my surprise I discovered that I had made a mathematical error of $200. I was so upset with myself and after explaining to my husband what had happened I said, “Our electric bill is due and where are we going to get that kind of money by the end of the day?” We were so disappointed and worry tried to enter our minds but we knew what God’s Word said and instead of worrying decided to pray and give our cares and concerns to Jesus. “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you.” Psalm 55:22 (NLT)

When we got to work that morning, a sister in the Lord was waiting for us at the door. She said, “The Holy Spirit told me to give you this love offering which was exactly $200. She asked me if I had a need or possibly a utility bill that needed paid?”  My jaw hit the floor so to speak. We couldn’t believe that the Lord would answer our prayers so quickly. I began to share with her what had happed on the way to work and how thankful and grateful we were for the mercy and goodness of the Lord. I knew right then that God knew that I had made that error in our checkbook and the night before He put it on this sister in the Lord’s heart to give a sacrificial offering to us. He met our need and took care of the problem even before we knew we had one. “…for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” Matthew 6:8 
Brothers & Sisters, Do you have a need? Be encouraged that Jesus knows about it. He hears our prayers and is quietly arranging things for us behind the scenes--and in His most perfect time He will take care of what concerns us—whether it be financially, spiritually, emotionally or physically. We can put our trust in Jesus! “Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.” Psalm 145:16
