Dear Praying Friends, Where has the year gone? November is here
already and as we move closer to the Thanksgiving Holiday we are reminded of
how important our family and friends are to us. But most of all we are grateful
for God’s presence and all His blessings throughout this past year. “Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the
nations what he has done.” Psalm 105:1 (NIV)
Around this time fourteen (14) yrs.
ago I was 29 years old and lost my precious baby girl "Faith Ameris"
who was born prematurely on October 23, 1999 and in just a short 26 days she
was gone from our lives on November 18th. It was Thanksgiving,
we are supposed to be thankful but I had just lost my baby and had to go
through that Thanksgiving Holiday with a very heavy and broken heart. My
entire family had also suffered a terrible loss so close to a time when we were
supposed to be thankful. I can remember Sister Hilda, (my Mother) had
planned a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the Lighthouse Coffee Shoppe for
later that afternoon. I wasn’t sure if at that moment I was able to celebrate
in something so joyous because inside, my heart was aching, but she encouraged
my husband and I to attend and we did. I can still remember to this day
the feelings I had when I walked into that banquet room so many eyes looking
upon us. You see they were hurting too, but they greeted us with a hand clap of
praise and smiles on their faces it was a very emotional time for all of us. “My soul finds rest in God …” Psalm
62:1 (NIV) We had a
wonderful dinner, a celebration of life to continue to go on with Jesus.
I’m not sure where I would be to this
day if Sister Hilda would have not encouraged me to go on with my life and that
God was in control of every situation. It’s a wonderful blessing when God
places special people in our lives to pray and speak words of encouragement to
us. “And he gave some, apostles; and some,
prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For
the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of
the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12
In less than 1 year and 9 months later I gave birth to a
beautiful healthy baby girl Arielle Nichol. God is truly faithful and
does give us the desires of our hearts even in the mist of pain. No matter what
is going on around us there are plenty of reasons for us to be thankful to the
Lord. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Psalm
150:6 (NKJV) Be Blessed in Him Today & Everyday…nichol arredondo
