The Father’s Eyes Were Over Us As They Are Over The Sparrow

It was 31 years ago when my husband and I and our 3 children found ourselves in a shopping center parking lot in our car with hardly any money and "Homeless" crying out to God for His help and direction. We were about 1200 miles from the place we called home. We had left a beautiful home furnished with the best our money could buy. The bridges had been burned and we could not go back. There wasn't any money for gas and no one to call there for help. It was right after the Christmas Holiday when this took place. I had heard the voice of God, so I thought, we need to go south where He would make us “Fishers of Men” and also find employment. We packed what little we could bring with us in our compact car, our children and $200 which was almost gone except for a few dollars, but I still had “MUCH FAITH” that GOD WAS WITH ME! " "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5.

Here we were in the middle of this shopping center parking lot, homeless and just a few dollars left in our pocket and did not know a soul there. We had just bought a loaf of bread and potted meat to feed us our last few meals. Now, my husband found a job right away, but He wouldn’t start till after the holidays were over which was about a week away. What would we do? I thought to myself, GOD DID NOT BRING US THIS FAR TO LET US DOWN. I looked over across the street and there was this big apartment complex and the Holy Spirit directed me to go there, but first I needed to make myself presentable. We had been traveling and I looked a mess. My husband pulled into a gas station so I could use the bathroom to clean up. I went to the trunk of our car and pulled out my best clothes, a pair of high heeled shoes and my fur coat. The Holy Spirit was with me and told me to walk over to that beautiful apartment complex office with confidence in Him (Jesus) because He was going to help me. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6.

As I told the building Manager this “Sob Story” to many it might seem just that, a “Sob Story”, but every word was truth and the Father’s eyes were over us as they are over the sparrow. Praise God, I found favor with the Lady Manager and she let us have the apartment with the promise that as soon as my husband Jose started working we would pay her. Now, we still had to eat, and our God provided some food through a Church pantry. Jose and my son Tony would go out everyday looking for empty soda cans, gather them up and sell them to supply our needs for that day. This was a brand new "Humbling Experience" for me. My family and I started a brand new year situating ourselves into an unfurnished apartment, sleeping on the floor, but we had a refrigerator, stove, and food. We were warm and so grateful that our God in Jesus name had brought us through. HE IS FOREVER FAITHFUL! This was the beginning of our journey into the “Call” of God. I have served Him faithfully for 31 years and never looked back and never been sorry. I would do it all over again to know the Joys Of My Lord and His Faithfulness! To God Be The Glory!Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”Deuteronomy 7:9
