"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 18:19. I received a call from a sister in the Lord who attends our Church. She told me that when she awoke one morning her throat felt swollen but didn’t give it much thought. Later that day while eating her meal a piece of meat got lodged in her throat and wouldn’t go down all the way making it very difficult to swallow or drink water. She went without water for 24 hours. It was a very painful time for her.
We began to pray for God to dissolve it. She lived close by so I went to her house, prayed and anointed her with oil. While praying the Holy Spirit gave me some instruction on what to have her do to help soften the meat that was lodged in her throat in hopes that she would be able to digest it. “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:”James 5:14.
After we left she said to herself, “Lord, I’m so thirsty.” “…If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” John 7:37. Within 24 hours she called me and said, “GOD DID IT--HE HEALED ME and I am able to swallow and drink water again!” The Lord helped her He knows that our trials cause us to draw closer to Him and His Word which brings peace, comfort, healing and strength to us all.
