We received a prayer request for a man who desperately needed a full time job. We put his name on our Wailing Wall and have dispatched his need out many times over the last year to all our praying friends. “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24. A sister in the Lord shared with me that God had Answered Our Prayers and provided a job close to home for him. Thank you Jesus!
This is a Testimony of God’s Continued Love and Answered Prayer. “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.” Mark 11:24. Everything was going well for him and he was working 30 plus hours in the beginning but as the economy got worse his hours got cut back less and less. (As little as 8 hours every 2 weeks)
This made it very hard for him to meet his financial obligations and he began to get farther and farther behind. Week after week he looked for work and put many applications in the nearby area and online--but to no avail. Feeling very weary and heavy laden, he said, “Lord, why can’t I find a job, why won’t someone hire me?” With hardly any money coming in things got worse and many days he thought how will I make it today? However at the end of everyday GOD FAITHFULLY SUPPLIED-- him with a meal, a roof over his head, a warm bed to sleep in and transportation to and from work! “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19. (Jesus takes care of us one day at a time)
Knowing of his situation this sister in the Lord would continue to send his name to us—and ask us to pray for him. She said, “As his friends in Christ our hearts were burdened for him. She said he didn’t ask for help too often but when he did call we dropped what we were doing so we could talk, encourage and pray with him. There were many of us that helped and did for him as much as we could. (They were hard times for everyone)
Months went by and in the natural—NOTHING SEEMED TO BE HAPPENING. Then, a couple of weeks ago, during my morning devotions I was praying for him to find a job and the Holy Spirit reminded me of a building that I passed by every day on the way to my husband’s job. I remembered that there were loading docks behind this building and they might need help--maybe they would hire him.
I prayed for God to please help me remember the name of the company and open a door for him. JESUS HELPED ME--I found their number and without asking him I called them on his behalf. They told me that they weren’t hiring at the moment but to have him come in and fill out an application because they were going to be hiring in February for their upcoming busy season. I got so excited in my spirit and called him right away to share with him the possibility of a job.
He was elated and the very next afternoon I gave him a ride so he could go and pick up an application. On our way we passed another business on the opposite side of the highway with many loading docks behind the building and I said, “Let’s stop there on our way back, maybe they need some help.” He said, “Sure if you don’t mind I don’t want to take up anymore of your time I know you’re busy and have to get back home.” The Holy Spirit said to me, “Don’t be in a hurry take the time to see about your brothers need. On our way back home we stopped, he went in and asked for an application and if they were hiring? The gentleman told him he was not the one that did the hiring and he wasn’t even sure if they needed help but to go ahead and fill out the application. He also gave him the name of the man that was in charge of hiring and what time to bring it back the next morning.
He got in the car with a smile on his face and hope in his eyes. Keep in mind that there weren’t any NOW HIRING SIGNS outside this building and NOTHING WAS PROMISED but I knew at that very moment that the Lord was going to help him. We were so excited--he now had 2 possibilities of employment on the same day and both minutes from each other. God’s Timing Is Always Perfect! We both laughed because now both places could call—which one would he choose?
The very next morning his sister took him to drop off the application. His thoughts were that he would turn in his application and they would probably call him in later for an interview as most places do. Our thoughts and our ways are not God’s Way! Instead the man took him in the office spoke to him and within an hour he hired him. Hallelujah! No Referrals-No Scheduled Interviews-No Inside Help from Family or Friends. Who Needs Classifieds? HE HAD HEAVENLY PULL--HE HAD JESUS!“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9. At first he was only going to work part time and that was alright because it was more pay and more hours than he was currently getting. He was also thinking that if he worked hard maybe they would give him more hours later on. His first day on the job he did so well that his new boss asked him if he would like to work FULL TIME and that his hours would be from 6:30 to 3pm everyday Monday through Friday. He was so grateful to the Lord for giving him this job and blessed because he would still be able to attend Church on Sundays!
Thank you Jesus for the opportunities you give us to pray and help others in whatever way we can and teaching us through your word how to be compassionate and alert us to our brothers concerns and needs. “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2.
