Years ago, in our wilderness experience, my husband and I were headed toward a church in North Louisiana where I had been called to Speak On Prayer. There had been a lot of rain during that week, but the country roads looked clear and as we drove along in our van, all of a sudden we came to a spot in the road that looked like a flooded area. We couldn’t see the road clearly. It seemed to have disappeared under a Lake of Water. Now, not being too familiar with the area, we came to a quick stop and thought, “What should we do?” It was already dark, and our appointment was at 7:30 p.m. which meant we only had about 20 minutes to get there on time. My husband and I sat there, and Prayed and looked at each other. We never got out of the van to check how deep the water was. Now, we were thinking out loud and said, “If we go back, we will miss a divine appointment of prayer with this church. We sat there looking defeated. The lake in the middle of the road seemed to say, “Turn back, go back home!”
Yet, Praise God, within a few minutes another van pulled up beside us. It was one of the elders of the church. Immediately, the friendly Christian voice said, “Come on I’ll go ahead of you, Follow me.” To our surprise he drove his van through what we thought was a lake of water and we followed. The water could not have been more than an inch and a half deep. What seemed like a gigantic lake really was only a puddle so to speak. Praise God the Lord sent someone to help us safely through the water and thank God, we didn’t miss our appointment! My husband and I Laughed with the Joy of the Lord. We prayed and God Answered!
Thank God for those who know the way! Saints, God knows the way. Let us NOT TURN BACK! LET US GO FORWARD, AND NOT MISS OUR APPOINTMENT WITH GOD! The word of the Lord tells us that when we go through the waters, they will not overflow us. Isaiah 4:2 reads, “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” I know that many of you that are reading this are in the midst of a trial, (your own lake of water so to speak) GOD WOULD SAY TO YOU-- HOLD ON, THIS IS A TIME TO TRULY TRUST ME!
