In Leviticus 25:10 it reads “And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you…”
The number fifty is the number representing Jubilee! When the trumpet sounded on Jubilee Year, good things happened to the people of God! Debts that were accumulated over the years were cancelled and the land would lie fallow for one year, which meant it was a special year of rest. All land reverted back to its original owners or heirs and the Hebrew slaves received their liberty. It was the year of years and a special season of celebration, bringing with it a time of rest, liberty, cancellation of debts, and a grand time of restoration took place!
When we received the free gift of salvation, we entered the celebration of Jubilee Year. Jesus is our Jubilee! Good things happened to us as we became born-again Christians. Our debt of sin was paid in full and canceled at Calvary by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We entered into a new rest in Christ. The bondage of slavery to sin was broken off of us and we received our liberty. Most of all, we were restored back to our original place of relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Our Saviour cried out and declared this year in Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of the sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Much prayer has gone forth this year for the lost and we have seen the Lord touch and transform many unsaved lives. We want to take time to thank our Lord for Answered Prayer. As Christians we celebrate our new year in Christ. Our Salvation and Deliverance have brought us to the acceptable year of the Lord and to Him Be The Glory Forever, Amen!
Why We Need Jesus…
1. We have a past and he can wipe the slate clean and give you a New Beginning. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8
2. He is our friend and loves us enough not to leave us the way we are. He will transform us through His Word. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
3. He is our only Hope and Future. We can trust Him to keep us safe and secure today, tomorrow and for all eternity. “For I know the plans I have for you…plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (TLB)
If you would like to accept the Lord Jesus into your heart and begin a personal relationship with Him, please pray this prayer: Lord Jesus, I invite you into my heart. Forgive me of my sins. I believe that you died on the cross at Calvary and shed your blood for my sins which provides me with the gift of eternal life. By faith I acknowledge you as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
